AMVETS Post 2256 Awards $10,000 in Scholarships to Local High School Seniors

June 25, 2024 — The AMVETS Post 2256 Scholarship Committee has awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from area high schools, along with a $500 scholarship from the Joe Dierdough Scholarship Fund. Joe Dierdough, a former Marine Corps member, left a significant legacy for scholarships, which the AMVETS Post 2256 Scholarship Committee has allocated to deserving students who met the qualifications.

The 2024 scholarship recipients are:

  • John Scribner, New Hope Christian School, also awarded the Joe Dierdough Scholarship.
  • Olivia Bright and Clara Wilson, Logan Elm High School.
  • William Search and Samuel Crosby, Circleville High School.
  • Addyson Pugh, Amanda-Clearcreek High School.
  • Emma Noecker and McKenna Kautz, Teays Valley High School.
  • Allison Copeland and Jaylyn Wippel, Westfall High School.

These scholarships reflect the AMVETS Post 2256’s commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of local students and honoring the legacy of Joe Dierdough. Congratulations to all the recipients for their achievements and future endeavors.
