Lancaster, Ohio — On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the Lancaster Police Department (LPD) and Lancaster Fire Department responded to a report of an unidentified male partially submerged in the Hocking River behind 1401 N. Memorial Drive, near McDonald’s.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel determined that the male was deceased. The LPD Detective Bureau, in conjunction with the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office, has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities are working to identify the individual and determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
