Week in Review – Top Incidents
Feb. 10, 2020
*Non-injury accident, Logan-Lancaster Rd/Sharp Rd. Vehicle left the roadway, struck a speed limit sign and traveled down the embankment where it came to a stop. The driver the issued a citation.
*Injury Auto Accident, 6920 Coonpath Rd NE, Richland Twp.: Deputies investigated a one (1) vehicle auto accident with entrapment. It was reported that a single vehicle struck a utility pole with power lines. County road department assisted by closing the roadway so repairs to the pole could be made.
*Hit-skip accident, Busey/Bowen Rd, abandoned vehicle that hit a utility pole.
*Larceny, 2900 Columbus-Lancaster Rd, 3 males stole an airsoft gun from Meijer.
Feb. 12, 2020
*Deer Crash, Fairfield Beach Rd./Laurel Rd., Single vehicle into a deer.
*Narcotics, Columbus-Lancaster Rd./Allen Rd., Deputy conducted a traffic stop and located narcotics and paraphernalia in the vehicle.
*Vandalism, Old Logan Rd., Caller stated his windows were busted out of his vehicle sometime overnight.
*Stolen Vehicle from Col. Estates
*Theft, Parliament Dr. Cars gone through and items stolen.
*Level 1 for the county from 1830-2115 due to the icy road conditions. All road crews were out. At one time all Patrol and FD agencies were tied up on Accident w/Injuries and we had to forgo accidents unless there was mitigating circumstances for us to respond.
Feb. 13, 2020
*Narcotics, Old Logan Rd., Caller states his tree trimming crew found drug paraphernalia alongside the road.
*Theft, Oxford Dr., Caller states a male subject was seen in the area going door to door trying to scam elderly residents. Caller states his mother fell victim to the scam. Subject would tell the homeowner he can do yard work for them and that the victim owed him $1200.00. Victim paid him and then after about 45mins of work the suspect left.
*Vandalism, Call came in from the Sprint store in CW about an active assault. Caller originally said there was three store employees and a male that was destroying the inside of the store. Units arrived on scene and found two males wrestling on the floor of the store. The Deputy that was first on scene, put one male suspect in handcuffs. The other male was a customer from HR Block next door that heard the commotion and detained the suspect. We were unable to account for the other store employees initially. A Detective responded to the scene due to possibly being a Robbery attempt. The Male was under the influence of narcotics or a mind-altering substance. Video surveillance was eventually recovered and showed the following. Male was actually a store employee who snaps, chases two customers out of the store and then sets about destroying the business and also interrupts power to the other businesses in the strip mall.
Feb. 14, 2020
*Trespassers, Granden St. There was a video that was posted to a neighborhood/ring website. A Deputy was able to locate the house and make contact with the homeowner. The person in the footage is the same person that was apprehended last week.
*Vandalism, Brook Rd. Vehicles had been shot several times with an airsoft style weapon. Both of their rear windows were busted out by the pellets that came from the weapon.
Feb. 15, 2020
*Injury Accident, Busey Rd./Hill Rd., Single vehicle into a tree. Driver was believed to be intoxicated.
*Injury Accident, Washington St., Single vehicle auto accident w/injuries. Caller states vehicle into a pole and a child is trapped with serious leg injury. Child was transported to the Hospital.
*Theft, Blacklick Rd., Caller states a firearm was stolen.
Feb. 16, 2020
*Traffic stop, Haaf Farm Ct/ Bainwick Ct. Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at Haaf Farm dr. The vehicle continued until Bainwick Ct where it came to a stop and the driver fled on foot into the wooded area. The Deputy gave chase and deployed his taser however, neither of the probes struck the suspect. The suspect then fell into a creek and disappeared into thick brush. The Deputy went back to the vehicle and detained the passenger and Heroin was found on him during the pat down. OSP and Pickerington Police assisted units in attempting to locate the suspect. The suspect was later located at a friend’s house and was arrested.
*Narcotics- Gender Rd/Waterloo Rd. Deputy conducted a traffic stop and was given consent to search the vehicle. Upon search of the vehicle drug paraphernalia was found.
*Theft., Hopewell Church Rd. The caller advised SD cards from her trail camera were taken.
*Vandalism, W. Market St.; Baltimore, Caller stated her vehicle was damaged. Unknown person(s) sprayed paint on her vehicle.
*Injury Auto accident: U.S. 22 @ County Line Rd NE; Richland Twp.; One vehicle crash into a utility pole. Vehicle rolled several times and the driver was ejected; Richland FD, Rushcreek FD and Pleasant FD responded. AirEvac transported the injured driver to the hospital. OSP 23 handled the accident report.
*Larceny, Pump station Rd, Caller advised his rear license plate was stolen last night.
*Vandalism, Marquette Dr, Caller advised a known suspect drove his vehicle through his yard causing damage.
