Jackson, Ohio: May 15, 2024 – Herr Foods, Inc., a prominent player in the snack food industry, has announced a significant investment of $31 million in Southeast Ohio, fostering job creation and economic growth in the region. This collaborative endeavor, supported by JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), the Jackson County Ohio Economic Development Partnership, and the Jackson Civic Improvement Corporation, will generate 125 new jobs across Jackson and Chillicothe, Ohio.
Headquartered in Nottingham, PA, Herr Foods, Inc. boasts a rich legacy spanning 78 years. Founded in Lancaster, PA, the family-owned and operated company has evolved into a powerhouse employing over 1,400 individuals. Producing a diverse range of 340+ snack products, Herr Foods’ offerings are distributed across all 50 states and beyond.

The investment plan entails the acquisition of the Jackson Industrial Rail Site, encompassing a warehouse on the eastern segment of the property. A total of $25 million will be channeled into the development of the Jackson facility, paving the way for the creation of 75 new jobs. Furthermore, $6 million will be allocated to augment the operations at the Chillicothe facility, generating an additional 50 job opportunities.
