Chillicothe, OH — July 31, 2024 — Maggie’s Farm and Aromatics LLC, a woman-owned enterprise known for its home body products, has announced a major expansion of its operations in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Established in 2020, the company operates from the historic Union Block building in downtown Chillicothe. Maggie’s Farm and Aromatics specializes in bath and body, home fragrances, and personal care products, supplying over 113 boutiques across the U.S. and Canada.

The company’s expansion will revitalize the second story of its facility, adding 2,000 square feet dedicated to production, warehousing, and distribution. This increase in capacity is aimed at meeting growing wholesale demand and enhancing the company’s ability to serve both its e-commerce operations and its retail locations in Downtown Chillicothe and Polaris, Columbus.

Owner Jessie Richmond expressed her gratitude for the support received, stating, “The backing from Ross County and neighboring areas has been crucial for our growth. Working in historic downtown Chillicothe and being part of this vibrant small business community is incredibly inspiring. We are committed to staying here long-term and continuing to provide opportunities within our community.”

The expansion is supported by a $50,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant, facilitated through a partnership between JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and Greater Chillicothe and Ross County Development. OhioSE played a key role in guiding the company through the grant process.

Richmond reflected on the company’s journey, “Starting in a farmhouse kitchen, it’s been a challenging but rewarding path. The support we receive, like the grant from JobsOhio, means so much to us. It’s an incredible boost for a small business to have such backing from our community and organizations.”

The expansion will create two new full-time positions once the new space is operational.

Katy Farber, Vice President of OhioSE, highlighted the significance of the grant, saying, “The JobsOhio Small Business Grant is essential in helping businesses in our region grow and expand their workforce. This project exemplifies the program’s value in Ohio Southeast.”

Tammy Eallonardo, Director of Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development, praised Maggie’s Farm and Aromatics, stating, “They embody the spirit of small-town success. Their growth from a passion project into a thriving business is something we are proud to support, and we are delighted they have chosen Ross County as their home.”
