Pickaway County Home Invasion: Suspect Arrested After 911 Call

PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH – June 14, 2024 – In the early hours of Friday morning, a terrifying home invasion in the Mount Sterling area prompted a swift response from local law enforcement. Around 3 a.m., a frantic 911 call alerted the Pickaway County emergency system to an intruder breaking into a residence by smashing a window.

Pickaway County dispatchers quickly coordinated with both the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office to ensure a rapid response.

  • 3:00 AM: Homeowners reported hearing the sound of breaking glass and took refuge in the back of their home, unable to access their home protection.
  • First on Scene: A Madison County sheriff arrived first and waited for additional deputies before entering the home.
  • Backup Arrives: Pickaway County deputies soon joined, and together, they entered the darkened home with flashlights and firearms at the ready.

Inside the home, deputies discovered 37-year-old Christofer Prince, bleeding from cuts sustained while breaking the window. Prince was immediately taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical attention. By 7 a.m., he was booked into the Pickaway County Jail.
