CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – As preparations ramp up for the Chillicothe Half Marathon & 5K on Saturday, June 1st, organizers are calling on volunteers to join in and make the event a success.

With various opportunities available, volunteers will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the race, including distributing medals to runners, particularly those from Special Olympics, at the race’s conclusion.

This year’s event promises a more streamlined experience for volunteers, making it easier than ever to get involved and support the race. Set against the backdrop of historic downtown Chillicothe, Ohio’s inaugural capital, participants can expect a picturesque route beginning and ending near Fifty West Brewing.

Participants can choose between a Half Marathon or 5K race, both of which traverse flat and fast paved trails, offering ideal conditions for setting personal records. The out-and-back course design ensures easy access to aid stations, with multiple stations available for Half Marathon participants.

All runners will receive extensive support throughout the race, including a comfortable event shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a complimentary Fifty West Beer upon completion.

In a new development this year, the race has shifted to Saturday morning, allowing participants to enjoy not only the race but also the Chillicothe Brewfest later in the day.

Those interested in both events can save $5 by purchasing a combination ticket, which includes entry to both the Brewfest and the Chillicothe Half Marathon/5K, along with event shirts for each.

The Brewfest promises a vibrant celebration of Ohio’s craft breweries, featuring a General Admission ticket that includes 16 tasting samples, access to live music, and a festive atmosphere in the heart of Historical Downtown Chillicothe.
