Update – One Seriously Injured in Semi Crash on US-23 in Pickaway County

Pickaway – One person was seriously injured after a head-on collision with a semi on US-23 on Thursday night

According to reports around 9:45 pm on Thursday first responders were called to a crash in the area of US-23 and the old West Huston street connector (now Closed) in Circleville. In the reports, the Grey Lexus was driving Northbound on US-23 when the driver lost control of his vehicle and crossed over the median and into the southbound lanes of US-23. A semi operated by Stellar Carriers Inc. was heading Southbound on US-23 when the two vehicles collided. The Lexus was spun and came to rest in the median the semi stopped on US-23 about a hundred yards from the crash.

The driver of the Lexus was flown to Grant by a medical helicopter in stable condition, and the driver of the semi was taken to Berger. There were no other people involved.

Sheriff’s department did not suspect the driver of the Lexus of being impaired but possibly fell asleep behind the wheel. The Lexus had Minnesota plates.

The roadway was shut down for several hours for cleanup. The crash is still under investigation

Pickaway Township, Circleville Fire Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Pickaway Sheriff Department were on the scene.
