WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE – When officers responded to a call of a stolen vehicle they didn’t expect to find themselves in a pursuit with a 2nd grader.

According to Washington Court House reports on August 25, 2020 officers responded to a residence in the Belle Aire sub-division on the report of a stolen car. While enroute to the home, police spotted the vehicle described and matching license plate and engaged in a traffic stop. The driver did not stop for police but proceeded through the development. After a short pursuit with authorities police were able to stop the vehicle in the grass on High Street at Lotz Drive. To their surprise when they approached the vehicle a 8-year-old was behind the steering wheel.

Police did not respond if any car theft related charges would go against the 8 year old, but they did say that he has been released into the custody of his guardians.
