CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO — The Circleville Police Department responded to a flurry of incidents throughout the day and night on July 18, 2024, ranging from routine patrols to more serious calls, highlighting the breadth of challenges faced by law enforcement in the community.

According to the police daily report, officers were kept busy with a total of 41 incidents recorded during the 24-hour period. The incidents included extra patrols, disturbances, suspicious persons and vehicles, warrants, accidents, and various other complaints.

Early in the night, officers conducted extra patrols on several streets including N Court St, S Pickaway St, W Mill St, Logan St, Pontious Rd, and Kingston Pike. These patrols were reported as “checked okay,” indicating no immediate issues found during these routine checks.

One notable incident occurred around 2:01 AM on US 23, where officers responded to a warrant situation. However, upon arrival, the individual in question was not located, and the call was cleared.

Later in the morning, at 7:28 AM, a warrant was successfully served on E Franklin St, with a report taken by officers at the scene.

Throughout the day, various calls were logged, including a report of vandalism on N Court St, a vehicle lockout on W Main St, and a drunk individual on S Pickaway St, where reports were taken accordingly.

Emergency services were also engaged, notably at 3:03 PM on US 23, where the fire department was requested for mutual aid, though the incident was later cleared.

As evening fell, routine traffic stops were conducted on S Court St and E Ohio St, resulting in warnings issued to drivers. Other incidents included an animal call on E Mill St and multiple 911 hang-up calls, which were all checked and cleared by authorities.

The day concluded with more serious incidents reported, including thefts on Morris Rd, domestic trouble on S Pickaway St, and threats/harassment incidents on W Main St and E Mound St. Reports were filed for each incident as officers worked to address community concerns and maintain public safety.
