CIRCLEVILLE – The suspect in the shooting death of a 19-year-old Circleville woman is expected to be arraigned on murder charges at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Circleville Municipal Court.
Trevor A. Teets, 20, is charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter and domestic violence in the death of Alicia Marie Pentecost-Salyers, 19, of Circleville.
Teets was arrested at the scene of the shooting at his residence at 129 Caroline Ct., in the Woodview Estates apartment complex off South Court Street, shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday when officers from the Circleville Police Department responded to a 911 call about a shooting.
He was reportedly taken into custody without incident.
Members of the Circleville Fire Department provided medical care to Salyers, but she was later pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Circleville Police were assisted by the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, the Pickaway County Prosecutor’s Office, agents from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Pickaway County Coroner.
The incident remains under investigation, according to Sgt. Shawn Baer, and more details will be published as they become available.
