April 3
– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported juveniles from a home next to the South End Market on South Washington Street were outside yelling, and she could hear them inside her house. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.
– Scott E. Karshner of Kingston was arrested on a warrant from the Logan Police Department and transported to Laurelville for custody exchange after a 911 caller reported a vehicle in which Karshner was a passenger had almost struck the Duke and Duchess building several times and the driver appeared to the under the influence. The female driver was not impaired but reported she was having mechanical issues with the vehicle.
– Officers responded to a fire/water flow alarm at the Eagles on East Main Street. Officers on the scene advised it was a false alarm.
– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported someone had put sticky mouse traps in her yard. The resident requested the information be documented that juveniles in the area have been leaving trash in her yard.
– Kendall Freeman of Columbus was arrested on a warrant from Jackson County after he came to the police station to find out if he had any outstanding warrants.
– A resident in the 100 block of Barry Drive requested to speak with an officer regarding other children harassing her autistic grandson.
– A resident in the 200 block of West Mill Street reported she received two phone calls from a male with a heavy foreign accent. Information was obtained.
– Officers responded to a 911 hang-up from the 100 block of Logan Street. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.
– A resident in the 200 block of Walnut Creek Pike reported someone had been throwing dirty diapers and trash in her yard.
– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of East Mount Street. The scene checked OK.
– An anonymous caller reported finding a syringe in the roadway near Rooster’s on U.S. Route 23. Officers located and disposed of the item.
– A caller reported a known subject was inside Aldi’s attempting to steal items but put them down when he was caught. The caller reported the male was now in the area approaching vehicles. The subject left prior to the officer’s arrival.
– A caller reported a male in a black truck who was slumped over the wheel at Scioto and West Main streets. The driver tested negative for impairment but did admit to consuming alcoholic beverages. He agreed to walk home.
– Officers responded to a 911 hang-up in the 300 block of West Mound Street. The scene checked OK.
– A resident in the 500 block of Mowrer Road reported his mother received a phone call, and the person slammed down the phone when they hung up. The caller wanted it documented that they sometimes get prank phone calls.
– A resident in the 400 block of East Ohio Street reported a known male subject had stolen money from her in the last two days. A report was taken on burglary.
– Robert B. Senn of Walnut Street was arrested for disorderly conduct by persisting after dispatchers received a 911 hang-up call from the residence where a female stated she was not going back to jail. A male then called to request officers assist him removing a female from his house.
– A 911 caller reported her daughter called to say her 2-year-old son was having a seizure. She wasn’t sure of the apartment number but she knew the building in the 100 block of South Court Street. Medics found no patient at that address. Contact was made with the caller, who advised her daughter lives above Gio’s and the squad must be at the wrong location. A short time later, the daughter called and stated she was not on South Court Street but in the 1200 block of South Pickaway and no longer needed an ambulance. An officer conducted a well-being check and learned the child did not have a seizure but an adult male at the residence did. He declined medical attention and checked OK.
– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported damage to her vehicle from a hit-skip. The resident then called back to cancel the officer and said she would have it looked at in the morning.
– A caller reported a large turtle in the roadway at Walnut Creek Pike and Hillcrest Drive that could possibly cause an accident. When officers arrived, they determined the turtle had been hit by a car, and there was damage to the vehicle. The vehicle’s owner declined a crash report, and a report was taken on a weapon discharge.
April 4
– A resident in the 200 block of Huston Street reported receiving several harassing phone calls within the last half hour. The resident advised she would no longer answer restricted calls.
– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported harassment by a female caller.
– An anonymous caller reported a known male subject was walking in the area of Mill and Clinton streets yelling at people. Officers were unable to locate.
– An employee from Genesis Health Care on Atwater Avenue reported she went outside to the back of the building and was almost attacked by two German Shepherds. She said she had to kick one of the dogs in the face to get back inside the building and that they came from the direction of the library. The officer was unable to locate the dogs.
– An anonymous caller reported loud music coming from a garage in the 1200 block of South Pickaway Street. Officers were unable to locate any noise in the area.
– Officers responded to a fight with numerous people in the 100 block of South Western Avenue. There was no physical fight, only verbal, and all parties were advised and left with sober rides.
– Harold W. Heise II and Charles L. Harvey Jr. were arrested for underage alcohol in the alley next to the 100 block of West Main Street.
– Officers responded to an injury accident in the intersection of South Pickaway and Logan streets.
– Officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute in the 300 block of East Mound Street. A squad was requested for a female with injuries from falling down some steps, but the incident was not related to the domestic dispute. A report was filed.
– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious person in the parking lot at the Berger Hospital emergency room. The scene checked OK.
– A resident in the 100 block of East Franklin Street reported a known male subject was at the residence pounding on the walls. The male left prior to the officer’s arrival. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.
– A resident in the 300 block of Meadow Drive reported the theft of the 30-day tag off her vehicle.
– An anonymous caller reported a female nodding off behind the wheel of a car in the Carnival Foods parking lot on Morris Road. The female checked OK and was waiting for someone inside the store.
– Justin Speakman was arrested for failure to comply after a caller in the 300 block of Weldon Avenue reported him walking around the area looking like he was under the influence of something and he ran from officers upon their arrival. A squad was requested for a male with a hand injury during the incident.
– A resident on Stihl Avenue reported her 14-year-old foster daughter left the house with her 9-year-old nephew without permission. The juveniles were located by family members and checked OK.
– A resident in the 700 block of South Washington Street reported his brother left a bag of items tied to a sign in front of his house. The items were determined to be trash.
– Officers responded to a burglary alarm in the 300 block of Clark Drive. Upon arrival, they requested an emergency squad for a 75-year-old female who was ill.
– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 100 block of West Main Street. The scene checked OK.
– A caller reported a vehicle driving recklessly in the area of Walnut Street and the driver making inappropriate gestures toward the caller. Officers were unable to locate.
– Officers responded to a property damage accident in the parking lot at Rural King on U.S. Route 23.
– A caller reported two people in a verbal altercation in the middle of the street in the 300 block of Town Street. The subjects checked OK.
– An Ashville resident reported his vehicle was stolen in the 100 block of Dunmore Road. A report was taken on a stolen vehicle.
– A resident in the 100 block of Logan Street reported a male was making threats to injure her when she returned to work.
– An employee from the Thirsty Parrot on South Washington Street reported someone stole a black construction trailer from the property. A report was taken on theft.
– Officers recovered marijuana from the driver of a vehicle during a traffic stop on Harrison Street in front of Little Bear Market.
– A resident in the 500 block of East Ohio Street reported she was in a truck with a male subject who grabbed her by the hair and was pulling her around. He then dropped her off and left the area. A report was taken on assault.
– Multiple 911 callers reported a male lying on the edge of the roadway at North Court and Pleasant streets with a bicycle beside him. A medic transported the male to Berger Hospital.
– A caller in the Elsea Mobile Home park advised of a domestic dispute on McCulloch Avenue. It was a verbal argument, and the subjects left prior to officers’ arrival. Officers were unable to locate.
– An employee at Berger Hospital reported a male subject just brought into the emergency room by ambulance was refusing to be treated and trying to leave, but EMTs advised he was drunk. Bryan Martin was arrested for disorderly conduct by persisting.
April 5
– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Circle Auto on East Franklin Street. The scene checked OK.
– A resident in the 300 block of East Ohio Street reported hearing three loud noises that sounded like gunshots in the area of Barnes Avenue. Officers requested the Circleville Fire Department for a back yard fire that needed to be extinguished in the 300 block of Weldon Avenue. They determined the resident possibly threw paint cans into the fire, which made the noise.
– A caller reported two children were pushing each other in the roadway in a wheelchair in the area of Court and Main streets. Officers advised the only juvenile with a wheelchair was on East Franklin Street and resides on South Pickaway Street, and the juvenile was not in the roadway.
– Douglas A. Schaffner was arrested on the order of the Adult Parole Authority after being treated for an overdose at Berger Hospital.
– A 911 caller reported her boyfriend was scaring her, and she locked herself in the bathroom in the 900 block of South Court Street. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.
– Officers handled a complaint about child visitation at the police station.
– Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area of North Court Street and Route 188. Officers were unable to locate.
– A resident in the 300 block of Walnut Street reported she located her dog in someone else’s yard in the 200 block of Logan Street.
– A caller reported a dog had been barking non-stop in the 1200 block of South Pickaway Street. The owner was advised of the ordinance.
– A caller reported a fight in front of the Thirsty Parrot on South Washington Street. An officer was in the area when the call was received, but no one was out at that location.
– A resident in the 300 block of Abernathy Avenue reported her neighbor was burning something in a shopping cart. The subject was advised to extinguish the fire and was advised of city ordinance.
– Officers responded to a fire alarm activation in the 100 block of Rustic Drive. The fire department handled the scene and advised it was caused by a water leak on a detector head.
– Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of South Scioto Street.
– Extra patrol was requested in the 500 block of East Union Street after a resident flagged an officer down to report damage to an outbuilding and a garage at his residence.
