CIRCLEVILLE – Kirk McMahon may have some competition after a first-grader at Circleville Elementary School stepped in Tuesday as district superintendent for the day.
Layla Yoe, 6, won the honor at a fundraising raffle held earlier this year. McMahon said she also won the prize last year as a kindergartner, so she is a seasoned veteran in the position.
Yoe is serving her day in office during the elementary school’s field day. Some of her duties include attending the district’s preschool graduation, interviewing a candidate for a possible teaching position and taking a tour of the new middle school still under construction.
Yoe is the daughter of Mindy and Richie Verito of Circleville.
