Bobby G. McTurner, 77, of Chillicothe, died 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
He was born May 25, 1938, in Jackson County, to John McTurner and Mary Woods Russell.
On April 12, 1964, he married the former Ruth Lamb, who survives.
Also surviving are children, Austin Gene (Brenda) McTurner of Lucasville, Sally Jo (Tod) Timmons of Londonderry, Bobbie Jo (Andrew Ulmer) McTurner of Wyoming and Allen Eugene (Tashawnda) McTurner of Circleville; grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Michael, Matthew, Izabella, Harper and Danica; a sister, Margie Durtsche of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Russell; father, John McTurner; and brothers, John and Junior McTurner.
Bobby retired from Kroger where he had worked for 42 ½ years. He volunteered for many years for the Harrison Township Fire and EMS in Vinton County.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Jividen officiating. Burial will follow in Boblett Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
