Ralph E. Martin, 92, of Circleville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, at Logan Elm Health Care Center.
He was born on Sept. 9, 1922, in Russell, Pennsylvania, the son of George and Faye (Wedlock) Martin.
During World War II, Ralph served with the United States Marine Corps during occupation duty in Japan.
After serving his country during World War II, he returned home and began an apprenticeship with General Electric. After graduating from the apprenticeship program in 1949, he continued his career with Reynolds Aluminum until he retired in 1982.
Ralph was a member of Northridge Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, playing golf and gardening.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marge (Dickson) Martin; brothers, Donald, George and Norman Martin; and sister, Viola Peterson.
Ralph is survived by his sisters, June Griffin and Ruth Godmaire; sons, Dale (Becky) Martin and their children, Amy (Brad) Sims and Emily (Dustin) Rike; Mike (Jill) Martin and their children, Mike (Brianne) Martin and Tom (Gretchen) Martin and their children, Jeanine Adinaro and Joslyn Campbell; daughter, Barb (David) Buell and their children, Shannon (Rick) Gnau and Chris (Ashley) Buell; several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Michael Cottle officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
