Local agencies aid in arrest of bank robbery suspect

CIRCLEVILLE – City police and Pickaway County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the arrest of a Fairfield County bank robbery suspect Friday on North Court Street.

Matthew D. Fullen, 32, of Lancaster, is currently being held in the Fairfield County Jail pending charges in connection with recent bank robberies in Lancaster and Canal Winchester.

According to Sheriff Robert Radcliff, local law enforcement agencies were advised by Fairfield County that the suspect was being followed in Circleville.

The Pickaway County deputies and Circleville Police initiated a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle at the old Circleville Oil lot on North Court Street near downtown.

Fullen was taken into custody by the Lancaster Police Department and the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the two Fairfield County agencies.
