Billy E. Lockard, age 81, of Ashville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at his home.
He was born in in Circleville to the late Harold R. and Myrtle (Schlegler) Lockard.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Billy started his career in telephone work with Ohio Consolidated and retired after 42-plus years from General Telephone in Circleville. He was a member of Ashville Palmetto Lodge 513 Knights of Pythias, Community United Methodist Church in Circleville, and a volunteer fireman for Harrison Township for several years. He was also a door greeter at Circleville Walmart for 11 years.
Billy was preceded in death by sisters, Kathrine Leonard and Norma Jean Cupp; son-in-law, Chet Cathel; and grandson, Nathan Gloyd.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Addie (Wertman) Lockard; and their children, Terry (Pauline) Lockard, Cindy Cathel and Billy Lockard; grandsons, Justin and Joseph Lockard; granddaughters, Nicole Timmons and Jillian Lockard; great-grandsons, Jordon Timmons, Bailey Timmons and Caige Gloyd; niece, Barbara (Rick) Vandgundy; nephew, Harold (Nancy) Leonard; several great nieces and nephews; and his faithful felines, Sammy and Sassy.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, with a service following at 6 p.m. with Pastor Ted Davis officiating.
