Ernest Taylor, age 82, of Harrisburg, died Saturday evening, Dec. 19, 2015, at Mt. Carmel West surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Derby, the son of the late Charles W. Taylor and Sarah (Spencer) Taylor.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie (Taylor) Knisley; brothers, Ed Spencer, Milton Taylor and Charles Junior Taylor; sisters, Florence Murray and Dorothy “Dot” Eisler; grandson, Tony Borror; and favorite companion, Corkey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Blanche E. (Moore) Taylor; children, Kathy (C.P.) Sprague, Rex Taylor and Theresa (Don) Borror; grandchildren, Shane (Tammy) Sprague, Tabitha Hardbarger, Ritchie (Rose) Borror, Angela Borror and Cody Knisley; and great-grandchildren, Brook Hardbarger, Cordell Sipe, Jobey Morris, and Tristan Sprague.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling, Rev. Dortha Ross officiating, with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery. A military service will be performed at the grave site for the Army veteran (National Guard). Family will receive friends one hour prior to service beginning noon.
