TVEF donates for gym mats at Scioto Elementary

The Teays Valley Educational Foundation recently awarded a grant of $1,215.94 to the Scioto Elementary School physical education department.

Sheri Wolpert, physical education teacher, said the money will help purchase a set of mats with a cart, which will be used for physical education classes and occupational therapy.

“Our school is so honored to receive this grant money to put toward the physical education department to purchase new mats and a cart to carry them,” Wolpert said. “I want my students to continue to have personal enjoyment, challenge and self expression in the physical activities provided in my class. Students will use the mats to achieve and maintain a healthy level of physical fitness. This grant helps us on that journey to success.”
