Stanley M. “Butch” Danner, 69, of Laurelville, went to be with our Lord on Jan. 3, 2016, at his residence with his wife and family by his side.
He was born on Oct. 16, 1946, the son of the late Beman and Ruby (Carroll) Danner.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon (Pickell) Danner; daughter, Marilyn (Trent) Swackhammer; three grandchildren whom he adored, Brittany (Lance) Canterbury and Colin and D’Lani Swackhammer; two great-grandchildren who brought him much joy, Maci and Ridge Canterbury; brothers, Charles Danner, Bob (Joyce) Danner, Dick (Connie) Danner, Bill (Sue) Danner and Rick Danner; sisters, Dorothy (Freeman) Conley, June Tisdale, Garnet (Eddie) Jackson, Sue (Dave) Morrison, Judy (Henry) Savage and Vicky Hunt; brothers-in-law, Bill Pickell, John (Susie) Pickell, Bob (Elsie) Pickell and Jim (Millie) Pickell; sisters-in-law, Katy (Dick) Leach, Betty Hunter, Barbara Haddox and Vickie (Delbert) Anderson; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents; brothers-in-law, Joe Tisdale, Tim Hunt, Larry Jackson, George Hunter, Emerson Haddox and Bill Cradlebaugh; and sisters-in-law, Shirley Cradlebaugh and Ruth Pickell.
“Butch” proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He has spent the past several years battling the after effects of Agent Orange. He attended the Pleasant Hill Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at the Pleasant Hill Church, Laurelville, with Rev. Jim Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston.
