Wilma Jean Reeser, 91, passed from this life on Feb. 1, 2016 at Genesis Healthcare Center, Circleville.
She was born in Circleville on April 19, 1924, to the late William and Marie (Trego) Montgomery.
On Nov. 20, 1944, she wed Howard William Reeser, who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1983.
Also preceding Wilma in death were brothers, John, George, Hugh and David Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Myrtle, Lucille, Ann and Martha Montgomery; step-mother, Hattie Smith Montgomery; and son-in-law, Gerald “Bill” Hall.
Late in life, Wilma received her GED Ohio Certificate of High School Equivalence on May 22, 1986.
Many years ago, Wilma worked at the old canning company and the feed mill and in more recent years, Lindsey’s Bakery. A member of the Church of the Brethren, she read her Bible faithfully and whenever able, attended services.
Loving God and her family were very important to her; she had a kind heart for everyone.
Wilma is survived by sons, George (Peggy) Reeser of Chillicothe, Howard “June” (Shirley) Reeser, Joseph (Holly) Reeser and daughter, Mary Ann Hall, all of Circleville; and daughter, Brandy (Scott) Mullins of Xenia. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Rob, Kristen, John, Rhonda, Katrina, Renee, Jeanna, Tera, Dareth, Robert (RJ), Hannah and Melyssa; many great and great-great grandchildren; and numerous family and friends.
The family is especially grateful for all the prayers and visits while Wilma was in Genesis Healthcare. A special thank you goes to Pastor Rick Hartley; the Genesis staff for their continuous care and support; Berger Hospital (ICU) and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care, love and support.
Wilma will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
