William B. Sharff, 60, of Westerville, formerly of Circleville, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2016, surrounded by his family in Florida.
He was born on Feb. 16, 1956, to Earl and the late Marjorie Sharff in Newark.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Meyer and Belle Silverman and Sam and Pearl Sharff; best friend, Steve Powers; and dear family friends, Ed and Babe Levin.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Sharff of Estero, Florida; daughter, Dana (fiancé Andrew Somen) Sharff of Avon, Connecticut; former wife and friend, Eileen Sharff of Circleville; twin brother, Robert (Nancy) Sharff of Deland, Florida; brothers, Mark (Maggie) Sharff of Sarasota, Florida, and Raymond (Cheryl) Waldman of Indianapolis, Indiana; honorary brother, Andy (Kay) Levin of Westerville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Bill was a graduate of Florida State University, where he received a degree in business. He was previously employed at Sharff’s Fashion in Logan, Athens and Circleville and Jos. A. Banks at Easton.
Bill was a “walking encyclopedia” of pop music, politics and the stock market. He enjoyed golf, movies, travel and Ohio State and Florida State sports.
He possessed a “heart of gold” and loved laughing to the point of tears while sharing funny stories with family and friends. His wit, sense of “doing the right thing” and kindness will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, at Green Lawn Cemetery – Beth Tikvah, 1000 Green Lawn Ave. Columbus.
