John W. Ross, 64, of Laurelville, died 10:35 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016, in the Adena Regional Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 21, 1951, in Laurelville, to the late Holbert and Opal McDonald Ross.
On April 28, 1975, he married the former Debra S. Newland, who died Nov. 19, 2014.
Surviving are sons, Josh A. Ross and his fiancée, Stacia Reeser, of Laurelville, Scotty (Karla) Ross of New Plymouth and Alan Ross of McArthur; many grandchildren, including Chase Jarrett Ross; brothers, Danny Ross of Chillicothe, David (Jackie) Ross of Lancaster and Lundy (Sharon) Ross of Laurelville; sisters, Geneva Newman, Charlotte (Junior) Ott and Debra Tipton, all of Laurelville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Terry Ross; a daughter, Paula M. Ross; and an infant brother, Terry.
John attended Pleasant Hill Community Church when he was able. He fought a long battle with diabetes. John had a beautiful voice and loved to sing in church.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Joshua, who had taken care of him since Debra had passed away.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home, 121 W. Second St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
