Roger A. Coy, age 69, of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at his residence.
He was born May 28, 1947, in Fayette County.
He retired from The Ohio State University after 31 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bessie (Pettit) Coy; former wife, Roxann Coy; siblings, Gene, Jerry, Herb and Delores Coy and Mary (Wayne) Wilson.
He is survived by children, Amy (Marc) Gothard and Johnny Coy; grandchildren, Preston, Davis and Sophia Gothard; siblings, Jim (Karen) Coy, Ralph Coy and Joann Carr; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral service at noon on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, Rev. Dortha Ross officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
