Allene (Elkins) Ross, 90, of Laurelville, entered into Heaven on June 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 30, 1925, the daughter of the late Lem and Rebecca (Finley) Elkins.
On July 8, 1948, she married Elmer G. Ross, with whom she raised four children.
Allene is survived by her daughter, Billie Sue (Ferguson) Kuhn of Laurelville; brother, Larry Eugene Elkins; sister, Linda Lou Tipton; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Allene was preceded in death by children, Roscoe (Bud) Ferguson, Donna (Ferguson) Harper and Ricky Ross; and five siblings.
She was a life-long member of the Pleasant Hill Community Church, an adult Sunday school teacher and a foster mother to many. She worked at the Chillicothe VA Medical Center for many years as a nurse’s aid.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at the Pleasant Hill Community Church, Laurelville, with Rev. Buddy Aldman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston.
