COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol will focus on distracted driving in the next 6-State Trooper Project, a multi-state, high-visibility enforcement. The initiative will take place from 12:01 a.m. Sunday through 11:59 p.m Saturday this week.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol joins the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and West Virginia State Police.
“If you’re behind the wheel, you need to be completely focused on driving,” said Colonel Paul A. Pride, Patrol superintendent. “Distracted driving is reckless behavior that is taken seriously by the troopers of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, as well as law enforcement of our neighboring states.”
The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing. It includes the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kentucky State Police, Indiana State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, West Virginia State Police and the Michigan State Police.
