John H. Ford III

John Howard Ford III, 57, of Chillicothe, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

He was born on July 10, 1959, in Columbus, to the late John Howard Ford Jr. and Nancy Kay (Thompson) Ford Steele, who survives.

John was raised in the Ashville and Circleville area and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. H

e retired from the City of Columbus, Division of Water, and was a member of God’s Community Outreach in Chillicothe.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vicki S. (Arledge) Ford; daughters, Heather (Chris) Tomlison of Laurelville and Tashia Ford (Bryan) Scoles of Grove City; seven grandchildren; mother, Nancy, of Columbus; brothers and sisters, Rocky (Karen) Ford of Ft. Myers, Florida, Patty (Steve) Feuer of New Albany, Rebecca (Gary) Barota of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jodi (Randy) Brooks of Circleville, Jeff Steele of Cincinnati and Kelly (Ruiz) Banchi of Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, with Pastor Woodrow Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
