Georgia Hardesty, 84, of Laurelville, passed away peacefully at Heartland Nursing Home on Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Born June 28, 1932, in Laurelville, she was the daughter of George Leasure and Gladys (Thimmes) Leasure.
Georgia was raised by her grandparents, Jacob and Mary Thimmes. She was married to Lewis Hardesty, who died in 1994.
Georgia retired from the US Shoe Corporation Factory.
Surviving are daughter, Kathy Knece of Chillicothe; and sons, Bob Hardesty of Chillicothe and Randy (Rita) Hardesty of Laurelville; grandchildren, Candace (Mark) Imler of Kingston and Clint Hardesty of Columbus; a sister, Bette Thurston of Adelphi; aunt, Virginia Thimmes of Chillicothe; and by a host of nieces and nephews.
A sister, Mildred Ricketts, is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home in Laurelville with Pastor Jim Vandagriff officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Laurelville.
