At Walnut Elementary School, a student from each homeroom is chosen as the “Student of the Month” by the staff members at Walnut.
The students are recognized for improvement in grades or good grades, good attendance or improvement in attendance, character, behavior, attitude toward others/learning, good citizenship or improvement in citizenship, classroom participation, demonstrating responsibility and/or respectful to peers and teachers.
Walnut Elementary is also working with Pickaway County Dog Shelter to help find homes for their dogs. The students are pictured with Bear, this month’s “Dog of the Month.”
January Students of the month are Gabrielle Collins, Faith Murlin and Calla Shrewsberry, kindergarten; Hatty Mayle, Brandon Muncy and Coen Wells, first grade; Sydney Brumfield, CJ Jett and Jace Schooley, second grade; Kate Bitler, Taylor Kuhn and Johnathon Noecker, third grade; Aleha Anderson, Sophia Kinne and Leigha McManes, fourth grade; and Riley Daugherty, Owen Kennedy and Landen Skeldon, fifth grade.
