Charles J. Sims, 86, of Circleville, passed away on April 5, 2017.
He was born in Gallipolis on Nov. 23, 1930, to Charles and Mary (Broomfield) Sims.
He was a US Marine serving from 1951 to 1953.
Charles retired from AEP Electric Company with 36 years of service and was former founder and pastor of River of Life Church of God for 20 years. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ and the people that he pastored.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Lee (Combs) Sims; son, Chuck (Sharon) Sims; daughter, Patty (Steve) Sharp; grandchildren, Janet (Steve) Wastier, Steve (Charity) Sharp, Chuckie (Jill) Sims and Dave (Melinda) Sharp; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Olivia, Lexy, Alyssa, Lillie, Ella, Troy, Zac and Luke; and by sister, Kathryn Casey.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at River of Life Church with Pastor Donald Combs officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
