James Robert McGowan Jr., 38, of Circleville, was called to God’s Hand on Friday, June 9, 2017.
He was born Nov. 29, 1978.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Frances (Koon) Giffin, Marion Giffin, and Frances McGowan, Homer; aunt, Anna Giffin; and uncles, Larry and Norman Giffin.
He is survived by his parents, Barbara (Giffin) McGowan of Circleville and James McGowan of Texas; sister, Frances (McGowan) Smallwood; brother, Claten McGowan; Claten’s wife, Tabitha McGowan; special aunt, Kay Snodgrass; nephews, Brandon, Brayden and Bentley McGowan; nieces, Summer Smallwood, Betheanly Everhart and Brooklyn McGowan; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
James was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He would help anyone out, whether he knew you or not. He enjoyed family time just sitting, talking and watching the kids play outside. He would tinker with his truck or lawn mower and come up with some crazy ideas.
A graveside service will be held at noon on Thursday, June 15, 2017, in the Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Wellman Funeral Home.
