Olive I. Furney, 99, of Groveport, formerly of Chillicothe; passed away Thursday evening, August 17, 2017, at Brookdale Lakeview Crossing.
She was born May 7, 1918, in Ross Co., to the late John and Barbara (Dishong) George.
Olive is survived by her children, Michael W. (Sharon) DeBord, B. Jeannette Purdum, and Rosemary (Charles) Carter; her grandchildren, Andrew and Krystal DeBord, Tony and John Hollis, Laura Carter, Susan Davis, and Jason and Sarah DeBord; a step-son, Robert (Dorothy) Furney; step-grandchildren Fred Furney and Monica Goldstone; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-grat-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former spouses, Melvin D. DeBord, and F. Harmon Furney; her son, C. Jerry DeBord; and her siblings, Ruth and Rose Bland, and Walter, John, Adrian, and Vernon George.
Olive retired from the US Shoe Corp. on September 1, 1980 and attended the Jefferson Ave. Church of Christ until she was no longer able.
