Anna V. (Davis) Sykes, 98, of Circleville died September 9, 2017 at Berger Hospital. She was born January 24, 1919 in Ross County to the late Clyde and Sally (Zimmerman) Davis. She became a farmers wife when she married the love of her life Earl C. Sykes September 18, 1937. They shared 71 years together. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, son-in-law Dennis Hartsough, brothers Wilbert, William, Lloyd, Alfred, Gerald, Paul, Jacob and Phillip Davis, and sister Kathryn Hoover. Anna is survived by her children Nancy Hartsough of Westerville, Larry (Diana) Sykes of Circleville and Christine (Kevin) Roan also of Circleville, seven granddaughters Debby (Tim) Cotter, Cherie (Bret) Busby, Dawn (Vins) Spurlock, Lisa Sykes, Whitney (Ben) Shaffer, Ashley (Jarrid Dailey) Roan and Amber (Lance) Boyer, six great grandchildren Andy and Brigid Cotter, Ryan Spurlock, Addison, Elliana and Sophia Shaffer, step great grandchildren Jackie and Matthew Spurlock and her much loved dog Pokie. Anna was a wonderful mother and MeMaw.
She loved to sew, watch the Cincinnati Reds and play Rummikub. Above all her family was her greatest treasure. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Pastor Billy Barbo officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Cemetery.
