Thomas Richard Smith, age 91 passed at Logan Elm Health Center on September 16, 2017. He was born on January 28, 1926 to Joseph and Thelma (Johnston) Smith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother Little Joe. He served 2 years in the army and 5 years in the Navy. He was an iron worker with Local #172. Thomas liked to hunt, fish, and mushroom hunt. He married Martha Rose (Wolf) Weaver Smith who survives. Thomas is survived by sisters and brothers Laura Harmon, Claude (Minerva) Smith, Rosedella Evans, Norma Courson and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by step children Betty (Eugen) Carter, Roger (Rita) Weaver, step grandchildren Pam Vollmar, Bethanie Tittle, Angie (Brian) Martin, Joshua Weaver, Jasilyn (Brian) Fuller, 5 step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with Pastor Brian Davis officiating. Burial will take place in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Laurelville on Wednesday from 2-3 p.m. Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville is handling the arrangements.
