PICKAWAY – Bicyclist from around the State flocked to Circleville yesterday in the G.O.B.A The Official Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure Event. On of the many stops during the event was a overnight tent/camping in Circleville. Circleville Police department had special duty to patrol the overnight campers approximately 1500 of them at the Circleville High School/Middle School Grounds. Full outdoor camping was set up for the bicyclist, a pop up mini village for one day.
Officer Cook and Officer David McIntyre,of the Circleville Police Department took the opportunity to outreach the kids at GOBA and show them why Circleville is a destination stop for them. McIntyre, resource officer for Circleville City Schools carries around a football in his car for community outreach reasons. The Officers spend some time with the kiddos playing football and having a good time showing the GOBA community what Circleville is about. “Zero incidents at GOBA, I’m very happy with that outcome,” said Officer McIntyre.
