Arizona – “We dont know whats going on out here,” said Tucson Arizona Police in a You tube video posted earlier today. “We are collecting samples and sending them to the crime lab for investigations.”
“This was a very cold and highly unusual event for northern Arizona,” said Brian Klimowski, meteorologist in charge at the National Weather Service office in Flagstaff. “We had record snowfall in several locations, certainly a historical event.”
Some of Arizona received up to 36 inches of snow in the on Thursday, burying the sandy normally warm area with snow, shutting down half the state with closures.
Police stated that after proper investigations they determined that the substance was “frozen water, or snow and that they don’t know what the big deal was with it.”
Flagstaff Airport is up to 31.6″ of snow for the day as of 5pm! This eclipses the previous all-time daily record for Flagstaff of 31.0″ (set in 1915)! We still have 7 more hrs to add to this record. The storm total including before midnight is 33.1″ for this event so far. #azwx
