CIRCLEVILLE – The Circleville Municipal Court and Pickaway County Intensive Supervision Probation Departments conducted a one-day operation on Friday May 10th. Probation Officers and Circleville Police Officers collaborated to perform a series of warrant arrests and probation compliance checks in an attempt to curb the recent citywide upswing of Methamphetamine use. The two teams of officers conducted 10 house searches, attempted to serve 14 warrants, and successfully contacted 14 probationers. By the conclusion of the operation, 17 individuals were arrested, and a large amount of contraband was located. Arrests included, 7 city warrants, 3 out of county warrants, including 1 nationwide warrant, 4 probation violation arrests, 2 arrests for Weapons Under Disability, and 1 arrest for Receiving Stolen Property. Officers also recovered approximately 15 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, approximately 2 grams of suspected Fentanyl, an unknown amount of suspected Heroin, 18 Gabapentin pills, 27 Oxycodone pills, 9 Zanaflex pills, a small amount of Marijuana, various items of drug instruments, and one loaded firearm.
The Circleville Probation Department plans to continue their successful collaboration with the Circleville Police Department and other local law enforcement throughout the summer season in an effort to combat illegal narcotic activity and provide resources to those struggling with addiction.
