Circleville Man Sentenced to Six Years Prison for Child Enticement

Circleville – On Wednesday June 26, 2019, the honorable P. Randall Knece, Pickaway County Judge sentenced Christopher Bartholomew (26 of Circleville). Christopher Bartholomew was sentenced to 6 years in prison, 5 years post release control and must register as a Tier II sex offender for the next 25 years.

The original investigation which began with Mr. Bartholomew’s arrest on January 18th where he was charged with Criminal Child Enticement for attempting to pick up a juvenile from Circleville Middle School without parental permission. Further evidence uncovered by Circleville Police Department Detectives through cellphone forensics and digital evidence uncovered that Mr. Bartholomew was attempting to pick up the juvenile with the intention of engaging in sexual activity. Detectives also located several child pornography files located on the cellphone belonging to Christopher Bartholomew. Mr. Bartholomew pled no contest on his charges and was found guilty on 6 counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor (F-4) and 1 count of Importuning (F-5).

The Circleville Police Department would like to commend the swift actions of the Circleville School Resource Officers, Circleville City School Staff, and the anonymous tipster who together were able to thwart 26-year-old Christopher Bartholomew’s sexual contact with the Circleville Middle School Student.
