Vinton – On June 28, 2019, The Vinton County Sheriff’s Office, McArthur Police Department, and Hamden Police Department went to a residence on West Main Street in McArthur to locate an individual who was wanted on an Adult Parole Authority warrant. Gary Michael Lemay age 35 of McArthur was apprehended after trying to escape out a 2nd story window of the residence. Deputies found Lemay on the roof and kept him from being able to escape until a McArthur Police Officer could make the arrest. Lemay was taken to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail on the warrant from APA. A bond hearing is scheduled for the near future. The arrest was handled by Deputies Lewis Dundon and Nick Appleman, McArthur Police Corporal Aaron Wolfe, and Hamden Police Chief Joseph Hewitt.
Also on June 28th, the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office received information that a suspect with warrants for Aggravated Possession of Drugs had just left Cross Creek General Store in Allensville in a vehicle. Deputies patrolled the area and advised Hamden Police Chief Joseph Hewitt to look out for the vehicle. Chief Hewitt found the vehicle at a gas station in Hamden. The wanted individual, Jason A. Graves age 40 of Ray, tried to flee but was quickly apprehended by Chief Hewitt and Deputy Nick Appleman. Graves was taken to the South Eastern Ohio Regional Jail on his warrants. The arrest was handled by Hamden Police Chief Joseph Hewitt and Deputy Nick Appleman.
On June 28th, the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, with the suspect being Wade Logan Coleman age 30 of Columbus. Deputy Lewis Dundon conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Wolfe Hill Rd in McArthur. Coleman was removed from the vehicle and placed into custody. A passenger in the vehicle, Kasi E. Wiseman age 34 of Wellston, was found to have a warrant out of Wellston Police Department and was also taken into custody. A third person in the vehicle was detained, but later released. Deputy Nick Appleman’s K9, Vader, was deployed and had a positive indication on the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle, a small tan purse was located and a container with suspected methamphetamine was found. A camo bag with Coleman’s ID contained a cigarette package with a crystalline type substance. Coleman was taken to South Eastern Regional Jail on warrants for Breaking and Entering, Theft, Obstruction, and Burglary. Wiseman was turned over to Wellston Police Department on their warrant. A criminal case for Possession of Drugs will be filed at a later date.
