The United Way of Pickaway County, as a part of its enduring commitment to its community, has awarded the Pickaway County Community Action Organization (PICCA) a second quarter funding award in the amount of $9,500.

Specifically, the UWPC provided funding will go to PICCA’s Head Start and Early Head Start preschool, Wheels to Work program, Homelessness Prevention program, Education and Training initiative, and Free Tax Clinic initiative. These programs all align with the United Way’s locally sourced impact areas of Health, Income support, Safety Net services, and Education.

As a part of the award, PICCA Head Start is able to employ a behavior specialist to provide screenings, training to staff, evaluations and more to the 75+ students enrolled in the preschool annually thanks to the support of our donors.

The goal of the PICCA Head Start Program is to increase school readiness for children, with a focus especially on physical health, mental health, or social development. Thepreschool annually thanks to the support of our donors.
