HOCKING – A man that is well known to police now is behind jail again after taking police on a high speed chase. In May Hocking County police put out a BYOB for the 28 year old man who is known to live in the Logan/Lancaster area, police said that he had multiple warrants out for his arrest. McCabe has not been captured since this time and police have been on the lookout, but that all came to a head on July 10 when Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Christopher R. McCabe, 28, Logan on SR 664 at 4th Street. McCabe fled on 664N with deputies in pursuit. The pursuit ended on Mann Rd. just before Bremen Rd., where McCabe drove through a fence at a residence and abandoned his vehicle fleeing on foot. Deputies located McCabe hiding in a creek after a short foot chase. McCabe was transported to the SEORJ where he is being held on warrants from Hocking and Fairfield Counties.
McCabe is being held without bond on violating a protection order, and probation violations. Police say that may have more charges pending.
