CIRCLEVILLE – A man has been lifeflghted after a tree in a heavy storm falls on his SUV.
According to police the driver of the SUV was driving Westbound on 188 around 7:09 when a lighting strike took down a large branch and landed directly on the car, pinning the driver inside. When police arrived at the scene chainsaws were needed to get access to the trapped victims.
After about a hour of work from Circleville Fire and Pickaway Township Fire they were able to extricate the man.
According to Circleville Fire Cheif Brian Thompson the man was taken to Berger then Flown to Grant Hospital. The passenger of the SUV had only minor injuries, but was still transported.
It took Safety forces and Circleville over two hours to move the large branches off the road.
