On August 10th, the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of theft incidents from storefronts in the Hocking Hills Flea Market located in Rockbridge.
Through various investigative avenues, detectives were able to identify the to suspects involved; Kelli Landis, 23 of Lancaster, and Tyler Sunday, 25 of Lancaster.
During the investigation by the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office, it was determined they were both the same suspects that had stolen over $3,000.00 worth of merchandise from Walmart of Logan on August 1st, and had unsuccessfully attempted a second theft at Walmart for an additional $3,000.00 worth of merchandise.
Detectives obtained arrest warrants for Landis and Sunday.
Landis’ warrant was served on August 23rd by Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office deputies; she was already incarcerated in the Fairfield County Jail on other theft charges.
Landis confessed to her role in the thefts when interviewed by detectives.
On August 23rd, when Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to apprehend Sunday, who fled in a black Nissan striking a parked vehicle and almost striking a Fairfield County deputy.
On August 26th, Lancaster Police officers attempted to apprehend Sunday, and when confronted, he fled in the same vehicle striking a Lancaster Police cruiser and almost hitting an officer with the Lancaster Police Department.
