CIRCLEVILLE – Another new business is opening in Circleville Downtown this one aimed at Modern Vintage.
Sara Thompson says they moved to the Westfall area about a year ago and while driving through Circleville Downtown they fell in love with the area. One day her husband saw a for rent sign in the window of 134 West Main Street (Former JM printing location) and decided to do it. Thompson says she’s been painting furniture for about ten years and really loves home decor.
“The downtown area is full of unique shops, and lots of foot traffic. We’ve went to the Pumpkin show every year and it seems like a lot of things going on downtown, and we wanted to be part of that.”
The store is filled with Antiques, furniture, and home decor but Thompson says thats not all, she also does custom work for repurposed furniture.
“Say you have a old piece of amazing furniture you don’t want to let go but it doesn’t work with your current decor, I can customize it, paint it, even fix old antique pieces so you can love them again. Bring in your ideas and we can get it done, I love painting.”
Thompson says her parents were collector/dealers of antiques also so she comes from it honestly.
“From antique shopping with my family, I am always in search for the one of a kind pieces and that reflects in my store.”
Throughout the store you can find, furniture, candles, jewelry, repurposed items, Christmas decor, Clothing, home decor items, painting and antiques.  Thompson says she has her wares plus five other consigners that are friends and family adding do the variety of items available.
“I plan to have classes on painting and other repurposing classes in the future, I am currently gauging interests and then I’ll make my announcement on my facebook page.”
Hours of the White Rabbit are Tues – Friday 11-4 and Saturday 10-5, with extended hours after Thanksgiving of every day with sales until Christmas. A little easter egg, the owner is a huge Alice and Wonderland fan, obviously with the white rabbit as a store name, but she also has some pieces in the store that are directly influenced from the movie.
