ASHVILLE – A woman in Broken Bow, Oklahoma is trying to reunite a Team Valley class ring with its owner, Billie Jean Fines says that she’s on a mission to get this done.
Fines says that they found the ring when cleaning up Sweet Home Rd going North for 12 miles to Northern Hills Rd on HWY 259 Through Hochatown/Beavers Bend State Park/Broken Bow Lake, in the Hochatown/Beavers Bend Area in the end of the summer of 2018 and she’s been looking for the owner since. She said they found the ring inside a McDonalds bag and felt like that it wasn’t supposed to have been tossed away. Ever since then Billie has been on a mission to find the owner.
The ring is shown to have the Teays Valley viking on it with Teays Valley wording on the top, the year is 1973 and initials on the sides are B on the left and H on the right. The stone in the center looks to be aquamarine. The ring is white gold and about 10 1/2 in size.
The manufacturer Herff Jones Ring Company says it is one of their rings but the records do not go back that far to tell who the owner is.
The association that found the ring is called KEEP HOCHATOWN BEAUTIFUL ASSOCIATION. Janet Cress of Janets Treasure Chest and Hochatown Gifts started the program. What they do is pick up trash, and items off of those 12 miles of the HWY. The group is all volunteer based and it is on a donation basis only.
