CHILLICOTHE – Police arrested a woman over the weekend after signing up at a local Fitness place and then proceeding to steal items from the locker room.
On Sunday January 26, 2020 police arrived at Planet fitness in Chillicothe to complaints of items stolen while at the facility. When police arrived two women said their credit cards stolen and cash from their purses, one woman claimed hers was locked inside a locker.
Police reported that after the theft one individual went on a spending spree with the two stolen credit cards all over Chillicothe buying gift cards at Big Lots, Game Stop, Champs, Dunhams, and Longhorn Steak House. Totaling 477.48 dollars spent on the two cards.
Chillicothe police was able to get video footage of the individual that purchased all the gift cards and was able to identify the person as Kimberly Armes, 31 of Chillicothe. Police received further evidence of Mrs. Arms from Planet Fitness that took a photograph of her when she signed up for a day pass under a alias of “Kim Salmons.”
Polie said that during the interview with Kimberly Armes she admitted to being at Planet Fitness and first did not admit to the thefts but later admitted that she had the cards and threw them away in a dumpster close to her apartment where later police found most of the Credit cards that belonged to the victims.
Ms. Armes was arrested for two counts of receiving stolen property and transported RCJ. After more questioning Ms. Armes stated, “she was sorry and that she was high when she did it.” She then told police that most of the gift cards were traded for Percocets.
Ms. Armes was released to jail staff and will be held in RCJ with no bond, pending her court date at the Chillicothe Municipal Court on 1/27/20 at 9
am.
Due to Ms. Armes attempting to destroy the evidence in the dumpster, police will also recommend charges of tampering with evidence to the Prosecutor’s Office.
