Columbus OH- Missing Cell Phone Leads to Loaded Gun in High School

Columbus OH- Today, January 27, 2020 around 8:30am, staff at Centennial High School were notifed by a student that his cell phone was stolen when he was in the lunch room.

The security officer at the school went over video of the cafeteria & saw a student pick something up off the table that the other student was using (missing the phone).

The security officer pulled the student who picked the item up, out of class & took him to the office. Security searched the student’s person and backpack for the missing phone.

The security officer found a loaded gun in the student’s backpack. The high school resource officer was notified and the 15-year-old student was arrested for Conveyance/Possession Deadly Weapon in School Zone and CCW. The student was charged by CPD’s Gun Crimes Unit.
