Ohio- According to law enforcement officials, there is a new social media trend called the “Outlet Challenge”. The challenge calls for kids to place a penny in-between partially plugged in cell phone charger and outlet socket. Doing this can cause sparks but is also dangerous because it can electrocution or even fire.
It is important for parents to talk to their children about these social media challenges and stress the importance of not participating.
The Outlet Challenge has recently been attempted at Grove City High School, according to Grove City Police and they have even placed a warning to parents on social media.
