PICKAWAY – Teays Valley informed parents of a potential exposure to COVID-19 by a middle school student.
The phone call was placed about hour ago and said, “As we keep saying, this is an ever changing situation that we are facing. We have been informed today that a student at Teays Valley West Middle School had a very short interaction with a person that has tested positive for COVID-19. We have contacted the Health Department and per their advice the student is self quarantined. At this time the student is not symptomatic. Should they become symptomatic, we will inform you as soon as possible. The Health Department has stated that students and staff that came in contact with this child DO NOT need to be self quarantined or tested for COVID-19 at this time. Should someone develop symptoms, they should contact the Health Department directly. We are working with the Health Department regarding our communications and decisions. This is the most current information we can provide to you.”
We will update when we get more information.
