PICKAWAY – During regular Circleville Council meeting Darrin Flick Pickaway Emergency Management Director gave some updates on preparedness of Pickaway County during Pandemic.
Flick says that emergency management hosts a update at 830 am and 4 pm daily for members across Pickaway County including Mayors, Sheriff and Police Chiefs, Major Agencies, State of Ohio has a representative.

“We have instituted a number of different planning strategies that are currently ongoing,” said Flick, “We have a venerable population planning meeting weekly to make sure we are not leaving people out. That includes our children being fed, to our homeless, our developmentally disabled, and mental health issues. We also have a emergency healthcare meeting each week that brings together all the long term health facilities, nursing homes, and Berger hospital, to talk through whats going on in those facilities and make sure they are getting resources and planning for things that may be coming.”

Flick mentioned that CRC Pickaway Correctional in Orient, Pickaway Jail, and the juvenile corrections are currently also being watched to make sure we are tracking whats going on there.
“Currently we are seeing a spike in a number of cases that are in the prisons, so we are watching that closely.”
Only Pickaway Corrections in Orient has cases at this time according to reports.
Flick asked for any PPE that is in peoples personal storage that can be dentate as we are still having a shortage of equipment in Pickaway county and across the country. Flick mentioned that Patel creating a sanitizer for the N95 masks would help stretch the shortage immensely now that one mask can potentially be used up to 20 times. Flick asked if anyone making cloth masks that they would like to donate, first responders are putting them on patients when transporting.
Flick mentioned that the surge is coming, and the flattening the curve is working from the Dewine orders.
